Monica grew up in Yakima, Washington. She crossed the Cascades to the big city to obtain her BS in nursing from Seattle University. As an RN she worked at Seattle’s county hospital caring for vulnerable and critically burned and injured patients. She then became a travel nurse and took her first assignment in Denver just in time for ski season. After meeting her husband they moved to the Mojave Desert where she worked at a rural critical access hospital, and later at Lawrence Memorial Hospital while her husband attended KU.
They landed back in Denver in 2014 and have made this home with their two children. She worked at the Swedish Burn and Reconstructive Center before earning her Master of Science in Nursing at UC Colorado Springs and becoming a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner.
Monica values the uniqueness of every human and prides herself on seeing every patient as an individual. She enjoys establishing trusting relationships to get a better understanding of her patients’ needs.
Monica spends much of her time at her kids’ activities (figure skating, theatre, hockey, football, etc.) and trying to convince her family to go snow skiing and water skiing with her.
