Dr. Joseph Sever

Dr. Sever was born and raised in Ohio. He attended undergraduate school at the University of Dayton and medical school at Ohio State University. He completed his internship in Columbus, Ohio before coming to Colorado for his residency at the University of Colorado. He joined Hampden Medical Group in 1970.

He is board certified by the American Board of Family Physicians, and is also a member of the Arapahoe, Douglas, and Elbert Medical Society, the Colorado Medical Society, and the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Sever was on active duty with the US Navy for 4 years and then the US Army Reserve from 1970-2004. He is also a Senior FAA Medical Examiner, co-founder of the Medical Clinic at the downtown Samaritan Shelter.

Dr. Sever is married with four children and three grandchildren. He enjoys all outdoor activities.

As of January 1st, 2009, Dr. Sever will be retiring. He will have limited availability for FAA Flight Physicals only.
